Over years of driving a service route in a truck, cycling, or just going out to take photographs, I’ve fallen in love with the many small churches in our area that have inhabited buildings not originally built as houses of worship. There is something in their simplicity that makes them as grand as any other larger, traditional church. This one, in particular, has always caught my eye, and I know those of others. Although it’s one of many, its mural has that Augusta vibe of funk and soul that makes it stand out just a little more than others.
