The Augusta Canal Industrial Revolution by Robin Raymond

The focus of my design is the Augusta Canal. It brought forth many jobs and products during the years of 1880 through 1940 ensuring cotton was king, and was an integral part in the Industrial Revolution. Many laborers were children made to work grueling hours at little or no pay and the conditions brought little joy. Also featured are the rare and protected Spider Lilies that bloom on the shoals of the Savannah River, which feeds the Augusta Canal and allowed this manufacturing boon to happen in our community, Augusta, Georgia.
